From the editor

The proposed musical edition continues the series of issues of works for accordion "Premiere" by the young composer and performer Alexander Letunov. The present, fourth issue of the releases "Premiere", includes two compositions of a cyclic form for accordion: Sonata No. 1 (in 4 parts) and "Four Illusions". After significant improvements, the Sonata was performed by the author in 1997, and the Four Illusions were written and performed in 1999. Over the past years, both compositions have repeatedly sounded in various concerts and competitions performed by students of the Rostov State Conservatory named after S. Rachmaninov. At the same time, the composer, throughout this decade, continued to work on these works, making various amendments. This release presents the final version.

We hope that this series will further contribute to the expansion of the concert repertoire of the accordionists. It is gratifying to state the fact of the growing popularity of the works of previous issues — evidence of this is the performance of published works by both domestic and foreign musicians in competitive programs.

The release is addressed to students of music colleges and universities, as well as concert performers.
